Ramsey Portia Ltd. seeks an accomplished Head of Operations/COO to lead the relocation to Switzerland (Zurich/Zug) and assume responsibility for all business and investment operations from Switzerland. The role is to be a named member of the executive management, subject to regulatory approval.

The position reports to the Founder & CIO and acts as the true number two, overseeing operations, regulatory, legal, risk, finance, IT, HR, and governance to support growth and investor reporting.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8-10 years' experience in asset management or COO role.
• FINMA fit and proper requirements; FCA Senior Management experience advantageous.
• Swiss regulatory framework knowledge; relocation experience a plus.
• Existing right to work in Switzerland; willing to relocate to Zurich area.
• Strong analytical skills and high ethical standards.
• Proficient with OMS/PMS systems (Enfusion) and Excel; some programming a plus.

Specialist AI & technology equity fund | London, relocating to Zurich / Zug in early 2027 | Start by November 2026

The opportunity

Our client is a specialist investment manager and an early mover in AI and technology investing. The firm invests exclusively in companies at the forefront of AI and disruptive technology, across themes including AI infrastructure and software, automation, cyber security, semiconductors, autonomous systems and next-generation hardware. It manages over $200M across a UCITS fund and an offshore fund, with a strong long-term track record, and its investment team is supported by an Advisory Board of leading AI and technology experts.

Currently London-based and FCA-regulated, the firm is relocating to Switzerland (Zurich or Zug) around Q2 2027. It is now seeking a Head of Operations / COO Designate to join as soon as possible, and by November 2026 at the latest, to lead that relocation and then own all business and investment operations from Switzerland. The successful candidate is expected to be put forward to FINMA as a named member of the firm's executive management (subject to regulatory approval).

This is a senior leadership role and a true number two to the Founder & CIO, for someone who can run every non-investment aspect of a growing boutique.

The role

• Full responsibility for the firm's business and investment operations, reporting directly to the Founder & CIO
• Leading the operational, regulatory and legal workstreams of the relocation to Switzerland: establishing the Swiss entity, licensing, engagement with FINMA and the FCA, and transitioning the UK business
• Oversight of trade execution across equities, FX and derivatives
• Oversight of risk management and compliance, supported by external consultants. For the first year in Switzerland these functions will be outsourced to a specialist Swiss provider, allowing time to learn the Swiss specificities before taking on fuller responsibility
• Finance oversight, including budgeting, accounting, audit and tax, working with external providers
• Selection and oversight of outsourced providers (IT, cyber security, accounting, website, distribution and others) and coordination with the Advisory Board, fund platform and administrators
• Governance, HR and general management of the firm; supporting investor due diligence and reporting

About you

• Minimum 8-10 years' relevant experience in asset management, ideally as COO or Head of Operations at a boutique manager
• Able to meet FINMA's fit and proper requirements as a named member of executive management; prior experience holding an FCA Senior Management Function or an equivalent regulated position
• Knowledge of the Swiss regulatory framework (FINMA) highly advantageous; experience of setting up or relocating a regulated business a strong plus
• Existing right to work in Switzerland (Swiss or EU/EFTA citizen, or valid Swiss permit); resident in, or willing to relocate to, the Zurich area
• Available to start as soon as possible, and by November 2026 at the latest
• Strong analytical skills, high attention to detail and the highest ethical standards
• Able to work independently within a small team; hard working and effective under pressure
• Intellectual curiosity and a real interest in disruptive technologies
• Proficient with OMS/PMS systems (ideally Enfusion) and Excel; good accounting knowledge; some programming skills a plus
• Fluent in English; German, French and additional languages a plus
• Ideally a graduate in Economics, Mathematics, Business, Law, Sciences or another quantitative discipline from a highly regarded university
