About the Role:

Reporting to the Site Engineering Director, you are responsible for all maintenance activities on the site. With a team of 7 direct reports, you ensure the proper functioning of the department and compliance with the strict regulations of the industry.

How You Will Contribute:

Beyond operational maintenance, you will develop the Maintenance Excellence program and manage spare parts administration. You are responsible for the proper execution of maintenance operations by:

  • Implementing and consolidating a Maintenance Excellence approach.
  • Defining the department’s objectives and monitoring tools to control their achievement, as well as managing related improvement plans.
  • Operationally leading the department’s priorities to maximize efficiency while promoting an EHS culture and ensuring compliance with GMP requirements.
  • Anticipating resource availability (recruitment and skill development) and organizing team functionality.
  • Actively managing maintenance costs and spare parts in collaboration with procurement. Reporting and building trusted relationships with various internal and external partners (Production, Quality, Plant Engineering, Capital Projects).

What You Bring to Takeda:

  • Master’s degree in industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, or equivalent. Additional training in business management is a plus.
  • At least 10 years of experience in a maintenance role in the pharmaceutical or highly regulated industry.
  • Minimum of 5 years of team management experience.
  • Experience in driving change through reorganization or continuous improvement projects (e.g., lean manufacturing, TPM implementation).
  • Proficiency in common IT tools (office tools/CMMS systems) and specific tools (business intelligence, data processing, and reporting tools).
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, enabling effective collaboration at all levels of the organization.
  • Fluency in French and English (spoken and written); knowledge of German and Italian would be an advantage.

Key Considerations:

At Takeda, our patients rely on us, and we aim to create a safe environment for our teams. Thus, strict rules must be followed to ensure product quality and safety for everyone on site. In this role, you may be required to:

  • Work in a controlled environment requiring the wearing of special garments and protective gear for the head, face, hands, feet, and body. This may also include additional hearing protection in noisy areas.
  • Remove makeup, jewelry, contact lenses, nail polish, and/or artificial nails while working in the manufacturing environment.
  • Perform shift work, including weekends, or be available for overtime and on-call duties.
  • Work around chemicals and biological substances that may require specific protection (respiratory, skin, etc.).

What Takeda can offer you:

We want our employees to succeed in everything they do – at work, at home, and in the community. This is why we offer world-class benefits and access to resources that can support people.

Our sector and the needs of our patients are constantly changing, which is why we emphasize continuous training. We actively support and invest in the development of our employees through a 50/40/10 training model.

We offer a comprehensive benefits package, prioritizing wellbeing, career growth, and work-life balance:

  • Generous Time Off: 20 days of paid vacation in accordance with Belgian legislation and 12 Working Time Recovery days with additional days granted based on seniority and age.
  • Health & Wellbeing: Comprehensive health and hospitalization insurance, annual check-ups starting at age 45, and support for preventive healthcare.
  • Family Support: Paid leave for maternity, paternity, and adoption, along with dedicated spaces for nursing mothers.
  • Career Development: Access to a Learning Catalog, language courses, and opportunities for internal and international mobility.
  • Transportation & Eco-Benefits: Contributions for public transport, incentives for cycling, and on-site charging stations for electric vehicles.
  • Additional Perks: Meal vouchers, eco-cheques, a flex plan, a 13th-month salary, and pension support.

Important Considerations:

At Takeda, our patients rely on us to create quality products, and we aim to create a safe environment for our team members. As a result, we must follow strict rules in our manufacturing facilities to ensure we are not endangering the quality of the product or putting anyone at the site in harm's way. In this role, you may:

  • Work in a controlled environment requiring special gowning and wear protective clothing over the head, face, hands, feet and body. This may include additional hearing protection for loud areas.
  • Need to remove all make-up, jewellery, contact lenses, nail polish and/or artificial fingernails while in the manufacturing environment.
  • Work in a cold, hot environment and load manual handling.
  • Work multiple shifts, including weekends, or be asked to work supplemental hours, as necessary.
