ING Wholesale Banking has an interesting opportunity available for an ambitious professional with a strong commercial drive. We are looking for a hands-on, commercially driven person to steer and expand the Financial Institutions Coverage Team in Switzerland, which has been established since April 2022. Hierarchically you will report to the local Zurich office Manager and functionally to the Head of FI EMEA. Candidates should have a strong commercial drive, understanding of FI clients, products and dynamics, good understanding of non-financial risk and strong analytical skills.

A commercial plan has been executed since the team’s inception and we have the clear ambition to deliver further growth over the next several years – focusing on existing as well as new clients.

Key responsibilities

  • Be Head of FI Switzerland, full responsibility for FI Switzerland activities, member of WB Switzerland management team
  • Manage a team in close relation with the hierarchical as well as functional reporting lines
  • Execute FI growth plan and identify new strategic opportunities to improve business performance
  • PAM and LAM responsibility for Swiss clients including 1st line of defence responsibilities (including KYC, alert handling, managing potential client exits). You will be hands-on in covering clients
  • Ensure that the business operates with an acceptable risk tolerance and adheres to regulatory parameters
  • Develop and coordinate knowledge sharing and foster a culture of collaboration, client focus, continuous improvement and innovation
  • Actively contribute to the development and implementation of the overall business and people strategy and ING business principles including ING's Orange Code
  • Ensure a culture of inclusiveness

Your profile and required qualifications

  • Hands-on leader with strong commercial drive able to manage results driven sales team
  • Self-starter, disciplined approach and result oriented
  • Knowledge of Financial Institutions and a vision on the sub-sectors
  • Good credit experience, as well as knowledge of the TS, FM and advisory products relevant to the FI client base
  • Highly collaborative personality, strong team player and ability to communicate effectively with clients, ING teams and senior management
  • Strong analytical as well as communication skills
  • Relevant KYC and compliance knowledge and experience
  • At least 10 years of relevant work experience
  • English and preferably also German and/or French language skills, written as well as spoken
