Job Description:

Head Middle Office Trading - Commodities, Energy - this is a long term contract vacancy (possibly converting to permanent) for a globally operating Solothurn based company in the trading sector.

Your tasks:

• Ensuring the accuracy and consistency of PnL and position data while maintaining the integrity of the book structure, ensuring reliable reporting and informed decision-making
• Driving the development and optimization of our system landscape, aligning changes with strategic objectives to enhance operational efficiency
• Serving as the voice of the Middle Office Trading team in internal boards and projects, advocating team priorities and needs
• Maintaining high standards within the team by ensuring accurate entry of complex deals, producing and validating reports, and safeguarding the stability of Mark-to-Market data
• Monitoring compliance quality within portfolios and leading User Acceptance Testing for Trading, Risk Management, and reporting tools
• Playing a key role in internal and external initiatives, from collaboration to sub-project leadership or full project management

Your experience/knowledge:

• Experience in a similar role with international exposure
• Strong understanding of trading (ideally Commodities/Energy)
• Advanced skills in implementing best practices and fostering continuous improvement
• Extensive expertise in IT systems, specializing in optimizing trading operations and enhancing business processes for improved efficiency and performance
• University degree in finance, engineering, data science, or a related field
• Language skills: English - fluent, German would be an advantage
• Excellent comprehension skills with attention to detail
• A high degree of self-organisation and time management
• Analytical and solution-orientated thinking
