Head Accounting & Controlling

Our client is a spin-off of a successful, internationally active Metals trading group. A major business area is being relocated to a new office in Zug area and the infrastructure is being rebuilt with the existing team of around 20 employees.

To complement the Finance department, we are looking for an experienced, hands-on and business-minded person as

Head Accounting & Controlling

to transfer and implement the Accounting and Controlling activities and processes and to further establish and expand the Finance department.

Your tasks and responsibilities

• Responsible for accounting and audit, budgeting and controlling

Accounting & Controlling process

• Prepare the company accounts in compliance with local Swiss GAAP for statutory and tax audits and liaise with auditors and tax authorities
• Design & implement systems, policies & procedures to facilitate internal financial control (e.g. internal reporting system)
• Assessing tax consequences of different trading businesses
• Statutory filings and registration
• Budgeting and Cash Flow Management
• Preparing the company’s annual budget
• Management accounting, preparation of actual P&L and Cash flow reports
• Preparing specific financial reports on request

Credit and Risk Management

• Collecting base and precious metals pricing data and running relevant database

Payroll

• Monthly reconciliation with HR

IT

• Responsibility for implementation of financial modules of trading systems.

Your knowledge and skills

• Higher degree in a finance related field
• At least 5 years’ experience in a similar senior role in an international environment, ideally in commodity trading
• Expertise in Swiss civil-, finance, and tax laws and regulations
• Strong knowledge of Swiss Accounting and International Accounting Standards (IFRS)
• Good negotiating skills in the English language and German (point of contact to local authorities)
