Job summary

Glencore International AG in Switzerland seeks a Nickel and Zinc Safety Manager to advance NiZn safety management systems and improve global health and safety performance. The role supports SafeWork standards, safety governance, and strategic projects, with travel around 40% to sites.

The ideal candidate brings proven safety results, risk management expertise, and strong stakeholder collaboration across the organization.

Qualifications

• Experience in safety governance and performance in a global multinational setting.
• Background in risk management, catastrophic hazard management and process safety.
• Fluency in English; French or Russian preferred.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the implementation and evolution of HSEC/HR strategy and SafeWork standards within the NiZn Department.
• Support design of systems and processes to monitor, assure and report on Safety performance globally.
• Deliver technical support to NiZn assets in Safety and Group-wide Safety management systems.
• Assist in development and implementation of assurance processes for Glencore’s safety management.
• Coordinate data management and ensure timely delivery for internal and external reporting (Annual Report, Sustainability Report, ICMM).
• Monitor safety incidents data and analyze trends for NiZn units.
• Provide group-level monitoring of safety performance against objectives and metrics.
• Foster proactive safety culture with internal and external stakeholders and leverage best practices.
• Coordinate safety projects, training programs and workshops to implement technical standards.
