ABB is seeking a senior leader to build and guide the newly established ESS R&D organization in a hybrid Swiss setting, coordinating with team leaders and about 30 contributors from cell to system level.

You will own the ESS R&D budget, drive technology roadmaps and priorities with product management, and foster a customer-focused culture while upholding ABB's values and safety standards.

Qualifikationen

• Master degree in a STEM discipline.
• Proven direct leadership and strong communication skills.
• Experience leading product or platform development in propulsion or battery energy storage systems.
• Knowledge of industry standards and development processes for railway and e-mobility.
• Fluent in English; German is a strong plus.

Aufgaben

• Lead and develop the ESS R&D organization with ~30 contributors.
• Establish technical leadership from battery cells to systems and influence roadmaps.
• Own the ESS R&D budget and manage technology roadmaps and priorities with Product Management.
• Foster an outside-in, customer-oriented culture aligned with ABB values.
• Maintain relationships with internal/external stakeholders across engineering, production and supply chain.
• Ensure a safe working environment and proper implementation of guidelines.
