Zusammenfassung

ABB's Research Center in Baden-Dättwil, Switzerland, seeks an experienced R&D leader to steer an established department within Industrial Solutions. You will blend people management with strategic alignment of R&D programs and oversee safety, processes, and lab infrastructure.

Reporting to the R&D Unit Lead, you will guide project portfolios, coordinate global activities, ensure high-quality definition and execution of R&D projects, and push knowledge growth with emphasis on HSE topics.

Qualifikationen

• Experience leading an R&D group or department.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• PhD in physics, electrical engineering, computer science, chemistry or similar.
• Knowledge of at least two core topics described above, with willingness to develop knowledge in other areas.
• Experience with the development process for industrial products.
• Track record in delivering market-oriented R&D results.
• Fluency in English and basic knowledge of German.

Aufgaben

• Lead and represent the department with ~45 members: people management, project portfolio support, research strategy, and lab/process improvements.
• Coordinate with the Research Center Management Team to align global R&D activities.
• Guarantee professional, top-quality definition and execution of R&D projects.
• Contribute to expanding technical and process knowledge with a focus on HSE topics.
