Job summary

Roche seeks a Head of Global External Affairs to guide policy architecture for Roche Diagnostics, leading global teams and shaping regulatory, healthcare and environmental policy. You will collaborate with regional partners and senior leaders to accelerate enterprise objectives and strengthen relations with major external bodies.

The role requires substantial leadership, strategic thinking and a proven ability to influence global stakeholders, including regulatory authorities and industry

Qualifications

• 15+ years of global or multi-regional leadership experience in External Affairs, Policy Setting, or Government Relations within IVD/Medical Device/Pharma sectors
• Proven track record leading central policy development and multi-stakeholder partnerships across regulatory, healthcare, environmental, and trade domains
• Executive presence and media expertise with experience influencing C-levels and external stakeholders
• Ability to simplify complex topics with strong analytical and strategic thinking

Responsibilities

• Central Policy Setting & Governance: set, maintain and govern Roche Diagnostics' official policy positions across topics such as trade, regulatory, healthcare, environmental and sustainability.
• Strategic Partnerships & External Engagement: establish partnerships with industry associations, international organisations, and patient coalitions to advance policy stances.
• Regional & Affiliate Alignment: translate global policy into local strategies with regional teams and ensure alignment with enterprise priorities.
• Leadership & Culture Evolution: embody Roche's leadership vision and drive cross-functional collaboration across QR&E, Diagnostics, Pharma, Legal and Sustainability.
