Job summary

We are seeking a German Language and Literature Expert (German) to evaluate and refine LLM-generated German content across translation, summarization, dialogue, and grammar tasks.

Responsibilities include editing for linguistic and literary quality, annotating German texts for grammatical and stylistic features, and providing feedback to improve model performance.

Qualifications

• Native or near-native fluency in German with strong grammar and stylistics.
• Professional experience in editing, copywriting, criticism, or NLP linguistic annotation in German.
• Understanding of literary complexity, tone, and genre conventions; regional variations.
• Impeccable attention to detail and ability to spot translation flaws.
• Strong written communication and experience working with remote teams.

Position: German Language and Literature Expert (German)

Type: Contract

Compensation: $50/hour

Location: Remote

Responsibilities

• Evaluate the quality and accuracy of LLM-generated German text across various use cases such as translation, summarization, dialogue, and grammar correction.
• Edit, refine, or rewrite German content to ensure it meets linguistic, cultural, and literary standards.
• Annotate German texts for grammatical, syntactic, semantic , and stylistic features to enhance model understanding.
• Identify model errors and linguistic shortcomings. Collaborate with AI researchers to improve LLM performance in German.
• Provide detailed literary and linguistic feedback to guide ongoing model training and evaluation efforts.

Qualifications

• Native or near-native fluency in German , with excellent command of grammar, syntax, and stylistics.
• Professional experience in literary editing, copywriting, criticism, or NLP-related linguistic annotation in German.
• Strong understanding of literary complexity , tone, and genre-specific conventions, as well as regional language variations.
• Impeccable attention to detail and ability to identify subtle translation errors or unnatural phrasing.
• Strong written communication skills and experience working with remote, distributed teams .
