Mercor is seeking experienced German Linguistic Experts to join a cutting-edge AI research project in partnership with a leading research lab. This role centers on evaluating how effectively a large language model (LLM) performs in German-language tasks and on curating high-quality German linguistic data to train and improve the model’s understanding and generation capabilities.

You will edit, refine, and annotate German texts for linguistic quality and provide detailed feedback to guide ongoing

Qualifikationen

• Native or near-native fluency in German, with excellent grammar, syntax, and stylistics.
• Professional experience in literary editing, copywriting, criticism, or NLP-related linguistic annotation in German.
• Strong understanding of literary complexity, tone, and genre conventions, plus regional language variations.
• Interest in AI, translation tech, or LLM-driven language research (preferred).
• Impeccable attention to detail and ability to identify subtle translation errors or awkward phrasing.
• Strong written communication and experience working with remote, distributed teams.

• Evaluate quality and accuracy of LLM-generated German text across use cases (translation, summarization, dialogue, grammar correction).
• Edit, refine, or rewrite German content to meet linguistic standards.
• Annotate German texts for grammatical, syntactic, semantic, and stylistic features.
