Zusammenfassung

ETH Swiss GeoLab invites a senior technical leader to define geospatial AI strategy, architect multimodal foundation models and data pipelines, and oversee scalable platform delivery in Root/Lucerne.

You will drive architectures, collaborate with ETH/CSCS partners, and guide cross-disciplinary teams to build reliable, reusable capabilities for societal impact in Earth observation and AI.

Qualifikationen

• Master's or PhD in CS, ML, geo-informatics, or related fields.
• Several years leading AI/ML, geospatial data or large-scale software projects.
• Defined technical architectures and guided interdisciplinary teams.
• Strong expertise in ML and multimodal foundation models.
• Experience with agentic AI or related AI architectures.
• Excellent understanding of geospatial AI, EO and remote sensing.
• Experience with HPC, cloud infrastructure or distributed computing.
• Proven ability to build reliable, reusable technical capabilities.
• English proficiency; German or French an asset.

Aufgaben

• Define and implement ETH Swiss GeoLab's geospatial AI strategy.
• Create target architecture for multimodal foundation models and data pipelines.
• Drive design, development, evaluation and deployment of multimodal models.
• Coordinate with CSCS and ETH units to ensure scalability and security.
• Lead collaborations with ETH groups, partners and open-source communities.
• Translate mission needs into technical capabilities and delivery plans.
