Zusammenfassung

ETH Swiss GeoLab is establishing a new interdisciplinary unit at ETH Zürich Space, focusing on Earth observation, AI analytics, and high-performance computing. This senior leadership role shapes the geospatial AI strategy and builds a multimodal foundation model platform.

You will lead architecture, coordinate with CSCS and ETH units, and translate mission needs into scalable, reusable capabilities for societal and environmental applications in natural hazards, agriculture and forestry.

Qualifikationen

  • Master's or PhD in computer science, machine learning, geo-informatics, engineering or related field.
  • Several years of experience leading technical AI/ML, geospatial data or large-scale software and platform development.
  • Experience defining technical architectures and guiding interdisciplinary teams.
  • Strong expertise in machine learning and multimodal foundation models.

Aufgaben

  • Define and implement geospatial AI and technical strategy for ETH Swiss GeoLab.
  • Establish target architecture for multimodal foundation models and data pipelines.
  • Drive design, development, evaluation and operationalisation of multimodal geospatial models.
  • Coordinate with CSCS, ETH units, and technology providers for scalability and security.
  • Translate mission requirements into technical capabilities and delivery plans.
  • Lead collaborations with ETH groups, research institutions and industry partners.
