We are seeking a dynamic and business-oriented Financial Controller to join an international finance team.
This role is much more than traditional financial control: the successful candidate will act as a trusted business partner, supporting operational teams, improving financial processes, and ensuring the company has accurate and timely financial information to support decision-making
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations and ensure the integrity of accounting records
- Monitor financial performance and analyze variances against budgets and forecasts
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities
- Ensure compliance with internal accounting policies and applicable accounting standards
- Assist in statutory audits and coordinate with external auditors
Business Partnering
- Work closely with Sales, Operations, Supply Chain, Logistics and Management teams
- Provide financial analysis to support commercial and operational decisions
- Translate financial information into practical business recommendations
- Support managers in understanding financial impacts of operational decisions
- Promote collaboration across departments by acting as a solution provider rather than merely identifying issues
Process Improvement
- Continuously identify opportunities to simplify and improve internal processes
- Lead automation initiatives, particularly through advanced Excel and ERP tools
- Develop dashboards, KPIs and reporting tools to improve business visibility
- Participate in ERP implementation and continuous improvement projects
- Standardize financial procedures and promote best practices throughout the organization
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Assist in preparing annual budgets and periodic forecasts
- Monitor departmental spending and provide recommendations for cost optimization
- Prepare profitability analyses and financial models for new business opportunities
Internal Controls & Compliance
- Maintain effective internal control procedures
- Ensure compliance with company policies and financial procedures
- Identify operational risks and recommend pragmatic corrective actions
- Support continuous improvement of governance processes
- Perform portfolio analysis by identifying costs and recommending improvements
Profile:
Education
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or Business Administration
- Professional accounting qualification (CPA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) is considered an advantage
Experience
- 5-6 years of progressive experience in financial controlling or corporate finance
- Experience in an international manufacturing, pharmaceutical or industrial environment is preferred
- Experience with ERP systems, preferably Microsoft Business Central. (SAP, Oracle or equivalent)
Technical skills
- Excellent command of Microsoft Excel, including Advanced formulas, Pivot Tables, Power Query, Financial modelling, Dashboard creation
- Strong ERP knowledgeHigh level of financial analysis capability

Most importantly, the Financial Controller should not be perceived as a “finance police officer.” Instead, they should act as a collaborative business partner who helps colleagues succeed by providing practical solutions, simplifying processes, and enabling better decision-making while maintaining appropriate final controls
Languages
- Fluent French and English (written and spoken) is mandatory
- Additional languages such as German or Spanish are considered an asset
Travels
- Willingness to travel internationally approximately 20–30% of the time
- Ability to visit subsidiaries, suppliers, customers or logistics partners as business needs require
