We are expanding the Finance department and hiring for our Dietikon location a Financial Accountant (100%)
What you can expect:
As Financial Accountant (100%), you will support Volpi’s accounting activities in Switzerland, helping ensure accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and efficient finance processes.
You will work closely with the Swiss accounting team and management, providing hands-on support, coordination, and subject-matter expertise across key accounting and finance topics.
In addition, you will act as a coordination partner for the US accounting function, supporting collaboration, knowledge sharing, process alignment, and selected cross-border finance activities between Switzerland and the US.
- Take ownership of day-to-day accounting activities for the Swiss entity, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance across AR, AP, cash management, and related accounting processes.
- Lead and coordinate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing activities, including preparation and review of statutory and management financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with the Swiss Code of Obligations, applicable tax regulations, and internal accounting policies and controls.
- Act as a senior point of contact for accounting matters, fostering accountability, high-quality standards, and continuous improvement across finance processes.
- Coordinate group consolidation activities, intercompany accounting, and cross-border financial processes, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
- Identify and implement opportunities to enhance accounting processes, internal controls, reporting, and finance systems, driving greater efficiency and process quality.
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of ERP and reporting solutions, with a particular focus on SAP Business ByDesign.
- Take ownership of Swiss and international tax-related accounting matters, including VAT, corporate tax, withholding tax, transfer pricing, and cross-border transactions.
- Coordinate with external tax advisors and support tax audits, statutory reviews, and other regulatory requirements.
- Oversee customs and trade compliance activities, including import/export documentation, tariff classification, customs declarations, and coordination with customs brokers.
- Monitor developments in international trade, tariffs, customs, and tax regulations, assess their potential financial impact, and ensure appropriate actions are taken.
- Serve as a key finance contact between the Swiss headquarters and US operations, coordinating accounting, tax, and customs-related topics and ensuring effective cross-border collaboration.
What you bring:
- Swiss Federal Diploma in Finance and Accounting (Fachmann/Fachfrau Finanz- und Rechnungswesen) or an equivalent qualification.
- At least 5 years of professional experience in accounting and finance
- Strong and practical knowledge of the Swiss Code of Obligations (OR).
- Strong experience in financial reporting and accounting processes, including monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities.
- Proven experience working in a Swiss SME/KMU environment of approximately 50–150 employees.
- Strong understanding of internal controls and Swiss tax and compliance requirements.
- Experience working independently and taking ownership of accounting topics from end to end.
