Zusammenfassung

Michael Page International (Switzerland) SA is seeking a senior accounting specialist to lead general and cost accounting and to prepare monthly/annual statements under Swiss GAAP FER and the Swiss Code of Obligations. You will support budgeting, tax matters, ERP initiatives, and provide management with reliable insights.

The role requires several years of experience, strong Excel skills, and fluency in English with additional German or French a plus.

Qualifikationen

• Several years of professional experience in accounting and finance within an SME or international group.
• Strong knowledge of general and cost accounting and Swiss GAAP FER.
• Experience preparing and analysing monthly and annual financial statements under Swiss GAAP FER and CO.
• Very good knowledge of Swiss VAT and tax requirements.
• Experience with ERP/finance systems such as Microsoft Dynamics 365, SAP, Abacus or Sage.
• Excellent MS Office skills, particularly Excel.
• Very good command of English; German and/or French would be an advantage.
• Autonomous, structured and analytical working style with high accuracy and reliability.
• Strong organisational and prioritisation skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Solution-oriented and pragmatic with a sense of ownership.

Aufgaben

• Manage general and cost accounting activities in line with procedures and deadlines.
• Prepare and analyse monthly and annual financial statements under Swiss CO and Swiss GAAP FER.
• Contribute to budgeting and forecasting and provide financial analysis to management.
• Manage Swiss administrative and tax matters including VAT and corporate taxes.
• Coordinate relationships with external auditors, banks and other stakeholders.
• Establish internal controls and optimise finance processes and systems.
• Support ERP and treasury initiatives, including Dynamics 365, Kyriba or similar.
• Act as finance contact for Swiss authorities on accounting, tax and financial matters.
• Provide local management with reliable financial information for decisions.

Job Description

• Manage general and cost accounting activities in accordance with internal procedures, applicable regulations and reporting deadlines.
• Prepare and analyse monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with the Swiss Code of Obligations (CO) and Swiss GAAP FER.
• Contribute to the annual budgeting and forecasting process and support management with financial analysis and performance monitoring.
• Manage Swiss administrative and tax matters, including VAT, corporate taxes and social insurance requirements.
• Coordinate relationships with external auditors, banks and other financial stakeholders.
• Establish and maintain appropriate administrative procedures and key internal controls to ensure the quality and integrity of financial processes.
• Ensure the effective use of finance systems and contribute to process optimisation, automation and digitalisation initiatives.
• Support the implementation and continuous improvement of ERP and treasury solutions, such as Microsoft Dynamics 365, Kyriba or comparable systems.
• Act as a key finance contact for Swiss authorities and other external stakeholders on accounting, tax and financial matters.
• Provide local management with reliable financial information and analysis to support operational and strategic decision-making.

The Successful Applicant

• Several years of professional experience in accounting and finance, ideally gained within an SME, international group or similarly complex environment.
• Strong knowledge of general and cost accounting.
• Proven experience preparing and analysing monthly and annual financial statements under Swiss GAAP FER and the Swiss Code of Obligations.
• Very good knowledge of Swiss VAT and general Swiss tax requirements.
• Experience with modern ERP and finance systems such as Microsoft Dynamics 365, SAP, Abacus, Sage or similar.
• Excellent MS Office skills, particularly Excel.
• Very good command of English; German and/or French would be an advantage.
• Autonomous, structured and analytical working style, combined with a high level of accuracy and reliability.
• Strong organisational and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively.
• Solution-oriented and pragmatic personality with a strong sense of ownership.
