Zusammenfassung

Toradex, a global embedded computing leader, is seeking a Field Application Engineer to bridge Toradex with the embedded market across EMEA. You will serve as a primary technical contact during pre- and post-sales, helping customers translate requirements into Toradex solutions.

You will deliver technical demos, train partners, and collaborate with Sales, Support, Product Management and R&D to address challenges and drive product adoption. Regular travel may be required.

Qualifikationen

• Experience in embedded systems, industrial computing, IoT, technical sales engineering, software engineering, solutions engineering, or related technical fields.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related technical field.
• Proven experience in technical B2B consultative sales, customer success or technical customer support in a related industry.
• Experience providing technical product consultation and demos.
• Hands-on experience with customer support/success routines, including remote troubleshooting and consultative problem-solving.

Role Summary

The mission of the Field Application Engineer is to be the link between the Toradex organization and customers. Success in this role comes from helping customers achieve their business goals by understanding their challenges, building trust and guiding them toward the right technical solutions.

Key Objectives of the Role

Build and maintain a strong link between Toradex and the embedded market.

Act as a primary technical point of contact for customers in both pre-sales and post-sales phases.

Provide consultative support to customers while clearly highlighting the Toradex value proposition and unique selling proposition (USPs). Ensuring customer success by providing high-quality technical guidance and hands-on support.

Introduce Toradex technology and Eco-System to new customers

Assist and unblock key customers, so they can bring their products to market faster, using Toradex solutions.

Understand and track project requirements on both the technical and business side.

Support customer questions related to:

Embedded Linux (e.g., Yocto-based systems and Torizon)

Embedded software development

Manage customer expectations and actively address misalignments in perception or requirements.

Act as a trusted technical advisor, aligning customer needs with Toradex's product portfolio and roadmap.

Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (Technical Sales, Support, Product Management, R&D) to address customer challenges, elevate bugs and feature requests, and provide timely solutions.

Develop and deliver technical demos and training sessions to help customers and partners better understand Arm-based technologies and Toradex solutions.

Represent Toradex at tradeshows, industry events and in customer meetings from a technical perspective.

Disposition to travel across EMEA , once or twice per month. (usually short trips ~3-4 day, but it could extend depending on the occasion.)

Core Experience and Qualifications

Experience in embedded systems, industrial computing, IoT , technical sales engineering, software engineering, solutions engineering, or related technical fields.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related technical field.

Proven experience in technical B2B consultative sales, customer success or technical customer support in a related industry.

Experience providing technical product consultation and demos

Ability to understanding customers needs and requirements and translating these into our portfolio of solutions and clearly communicating product benefits.

Hands-on experience with customer support/success routines, including remote troubleshooting and consultative problem-solving.

Experience working with embedded operating systems, Linux-based platforms, industrial computing solutions or related technologies.

Familiarity with Linux, embedded software development, or adjacent technologies. Experience with Yocto, Linux kernel development or open-source ecosystems is beneficial but not required.

Familiarity with common embedded hardware, communications protocols or industrial networking technologies.

Solid understanding of computer hardware fundamentals and component datasheets.

An understanding of electronic hardware concepts is beneficial.

Very good communication skills in English (both written and spoken).
