Job summary

Swiss Re in Zurich is seeking an Underwriter Facultative Property for the Western & Southern Europe Desk to evaluate, underwrite, and originate facultative property business across diverse risk types.

You will work in a highly international environment, collaborating with clients, brokers, and cross-functional teams, and you will contribute to portfolio growth while applying state-of-the-art modelling and analytics. The role offers a hybrid work model across European markets.

Qualifications

• Facultative property underwriting experience.
• Fluent English; other European languages are a plus.
• Bachelor/Master/PhD in Economics/Engineering/Science.
• Analytical and detail-oriented mindset.
• Collaborative and entrepreneurial spirit.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
• Advanced MS Office; Copilot, Power BI and GenAI tools.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and underwrite facultative property risks across Western & Southern Europe.
• Originate new business and grow portfolio.
• Assess fire, natural catastrophe, and industrial property risks.
• Foster client and broker relationships.
• Contribute to portfolio steering with data-driven decisions.
• Collaborate with account managers, market underwriters, and treaty underwriters.
• Share knowledge and foster continuous learning.
• Develop creative, tailored client solutions.
