For our client, a leading global pharmaceutical company, we are looking for an Expert Science and Technology – Downstream Process Development to support the development of biologics manufacturing processes.
In this role, you will be part of a multidisciplinary project team responsible for designing, executing, and documenting laboratory experiments related to downstream processing and purification of drug substances. You will contribute to the development and optimization of manufacturing processes while ensuring high scientific standards, quality, and timely project delivery.
Your Responsibilities
- Plan, execute, and document scientific experiments supporting drug substance manufacturing process development.
- Perform downstream processing experiments, including chromatography and filtration-based purification techniques.
- Analyze, evaluate, and report experimental data and project results.
- Contribute to scientific and technical project activities within cross-functional teams.
- Collaborate closely with project leaders and experienced scientists.
- Optimize existing methods and support the development of more efficient purification processes.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and infrastructure in accordance with quality and safety standards.
- Ensure accurate documentation of experiments, results, and laboratory activities.
- Conduct literature reviews and safety assessments when required.
- Manage chemicals, solvents, and laboratory materials responsibly.
- Support the successful delivery of drug substance development projects.
Your Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology, Life Sciences, Biochemistry, Bioprocess Engineering, or a related scientific discipline, or equivalent technical education.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant industry experience in a laboratory or process development environment.
- Practical experience with purification technologies such as chromatography and/or filtration.
- Strong understanding of biotechnology and bioprocess development principles.
- Experience in experimental design, execution, troubleshooting, and data interpretation.
- Comfortable working with laboratory equipment, software tools, and scientific documentation systems.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Fluent English, both written and spoken.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with protein purification, monoclonal antibodies, or other biologics.
- Knowledge of chromatography systems such as ÄKTA/FPLC.
- Experience with filtration technologies including TFF and UF/DF.
- Exposure to GMP-regulated pharmaceutical or biotechnology environments.
- Scientific presentation and technical writing experience.
