Job summary

Syngenta invites applications for an Engineering Manager (m/f/d) at our multipurpose production site in Muttenz. You will lead a team of engineers delivering capital projects and engineering solutions to introduce new active ingredients into the Muttenz NAIS asset.

The role sits at the intersection of PTNAI and Manufacturing, translating development into safe, scalable, and cost-effective production assets.

Qualifications

Degree/Master in energy transition or MS/BS in industrial, engineering or chemical sciences, or a 5-year technical degree in related discipline.
Fluent in English; German is a plus.
Programme Management: coordinating and driving multiple work fronts/programs.
Change and/or operational management experience with autonomy in a complex environment.

Responsibilities

Lead CAPEX projects from concept through mechanical completion per EPP.
Embed and sponsor the Swiss Engineering Platform usage.
Integrate CAPEX efficiency elements (portfolio optimization, design and execution).
Develop scopes of work, design basis documents, Capital Proposals, and engineering schedules; support sanctioning at gates.
Manage engineering contractors; ensure design quality and compliance with standards.
Conduct post-project reviews and capture lessons to update standards and guidelines.
Drive Project Sustainability Reviews to integrate energy efficiency and low-carbon principles.
