Zusammenfassung

UNFPA Geneva hosts the Emergency Officer (EPP Secretary) within the GERU of the HRD. The role supports planning, implementation and monitoring of the EPP rollout, knowledge management and reporting for emergencies. It entails coordinating with HQ, regional and country offices and contributing to AARs and tool development.

The position emphasizes capacity building, data analysis, and timely reporting to senior leadership, ensuring adherence to EPP timelines and UNFPA policies in crisis situations.

Qualifikationen

• An advanced university degree in International Relations/Development, Business Administration, Management, Humanitarian Affairs, or other similar fields is required.
• At least two (2) years of progressively responsible humanitarian experience, with in-country operations experience.
• Proven coordination and field-level program implementation experience.
• Proficient writing and communication skills; ability to work under stress.

Aufgaben

• Support coordination between HQ, regional offices, and country offices for activated emergencies.
• Provide tailored operational support for emergency preparedness and response.
• Support development, refinement, and dissemination of EPP tools, templates, and guidelines.
• Monitor adherence to timelines and provide technical guidance to RO/COs.
• Coordinate Level 3 After Action Reviews and support implementation for Level 2 and Level 1 emergencies.
• Consolidate knowledge from AAR outcomes and ensure follow-up with relevant units.
• Develop capacity-building trainings on EPP protocols and preparedness measures.
• Collect and analyze data to inform planning and reporting to senior leadership.
