Zusammenfassung

A leading recruitment firm is seeking an EMEA Packaging Engineer for a top-tier American company in the Food Process industry, located in Switzerland. The successful candidate will lead packaging projects, develop new packaging solutions, and collaborate with cross-functional teams. Candidates should have 3-5 years of experience in a Supply Chain environment and strong project management skills. Additional benefits include performance bonuses, healthcare contributions, and 28 vacation days annually.

Qualifikationen

  • 3-5 years of experience in a Supply Chain environment, ideally in Food & Beverage.
  • 3-5 years of experience in Project Management involving Packaging Development.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and direct/manage additional projects.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain activities to drive projects to commercialization.
  • Ability to manage packaging graphics or printing design and ensure end product quality.
  • Project management skills with follow-through.

About the role mission

The EMEA Packaging Engineer will lead packaging projects for the EMEA region as assigned. Projects may involve graphic changes, packaging developments, new suppliers or 3rd party tollers qualification. Act as liaison between commercial groups, plant engineering, production, quality, safety, finance and co-packer groups providing technical and production expertise. Additionally, this position will partner with business to develop and drive new innovation including concept development, project scoping, consumer validation and commercialization.

Key responsibilities

Lead project activities to ensure scope and objectives are achieved:

  • Packaging and new productdevelopment to deliver project scope.
  • Lead all activitiesrelated to the project, from planning, to scheduling, tracking and reportingthe status from initiation to final delivery.
  • Ensure that projectmilestones and critical paths are clearly identified, scheduled and tracked ormet.
  • Participate toweekly/bi-weekly commercialization meetings in support of projects and keyinitiatives.
  • Plant trials andvalidation for new package/process changes.
  • Prepare, review andestablish technical or quality documentation related to R&D activities.
  • Generate, maintain andprovide appropriate Technical Documentation to Manufacturing and Business toproduce product (BOM’s, Specifications, Logistics Information, etc).
  • Provide R&D elementsfor graphics and review final graphics for accuracy.
Help initiate and deliver innovation
  • Work with the businessgroup to confirm new concepts.
  • Analyze package design andwork with operations group to ensure machinery/production compatibility.
  • Lead packaging and processqualifications protocols and validation either independently or in conjunctionwith engineering as required.
Support execution of manufacturing/production standards
  • Provide technicalresources as required when performing routine manufacturing validations.
  • Responsible for packagingspecifications and pallet patterns.
  • Support safety, qualityand operational initiatives identified for the region.
  • Ensure that equipment andfacility investments meet quality, safety, ergonomics, environmental and OSHAstatistics requirements.
Functional/Technical skills
  • Minimum 3-5 yearsof experience in a Supply Chain environment, ideally in the Food & Beverageindustry.
  • Minimum 3-5 yearsof experience in Project Management involving Packaging Development.
  • Experience inpowder/liquid filling, flexible packaging, folding cartons, plastic injectionmolding.
  • Goodunderstanding of Supply Chain activities within an organization in order toquickly execute projects to commercialization stage (NPD, Promotions,Alternative Suppliers, Graphic changes, etc).
  • Ability to managepackaging graphics or printing design process and end product quality.
  • Projectmanagement and follow-through and skills.
  • Excellentwritten, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
  • French native, fluentin English, other language (German) would be a plus.
  • Microsoft Officesoftware MS Project.
  • Knowledge andunderstanding about web-based work management and project management softwaressuch as Workfront, Loftware or Esko is a plus.
  • Projectexperience involving companywide cross-functional teams (Production, Marketing,Purchasing, Finance).
  • Ability toanalyze data, make decisions and communicate effectively the benefits ofdecisions to all levels of management.
  • Someone whoenjoys a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Not afraid to “roll up sleeves”.
  • Ability to managemultiple projects simultaneously and direct/manage additional projects.
  • Ability toprioritize, initiate and drive projects to completion.
  • Self-motivatedand excellent problem solving skills.
  • Someone willingto travel for 15% to 20% of working time.

  • Bachelor’s degreein Packaging engineering or close related discipline.
