Your Responsibilities
- Development, programming, testing, and maintenance of modular, robust firmware for ARM-based microcontrollers in industrial automation and mechatronic systems
- Development and maintenance of reusable firmware and software libraries as well as industrial communication interfaces, in particular OPC UA, Modbus RTU/TCP, CANopen, and Ethernet TCP/IP
- Ensuring reliable communication and integration between electronics, microcontrollers, and higher-level automation systems
- Planning and conducting verifications, system tests, and simulation-based validations, as well as developing automated test solutions
- Analyzing measurement and production data, conducting experiments, and processing the results for targeted fault analysis and system optimization
- Supporting prototype development, hardware commissioning, low-level debugging, and the transition from prototypes to mass production
- Technical support and continuous further development of existing products throughout the entire product lifecycle
- Participation in hardware development, schematic design, component selection, and system architecture
- Responsibility for the application of the Renesas Synergy Software Package (SSP)
- Close collaboration with software, hardware, and product management teams, as well as active participation in architecture and code reviews
- Monitoring new technologies and identifying opportunities for innovation to develop future-oriented solutions
- Creation and maintenance of technical documentation, requirements specifications, and test and implementation documentation
- Ensuring compliance with relevant legal and regulatory requirements, in particular the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA)
Your Profile
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mechatronics, robotics, electrical engineering, or a related field
- At least 5 years of professional experience in the development and testing of embedded firmware/software and hardware
- Excellent knowledge of C/C++ for ARM-based real-time microcontrollers, as well as practical experience with embedded Linux platforms, e.g., Yocto
- Extensive experience with industrial communication protocols such as OPC UA, CANopen, Ethernet TCP/IP, and Modbus RTU/TCP
- Experience with Git and Azure DevOps, as well as a good understanding of modern software development and version control processes
- Experience in test automation and data analysis, ideally with
- Strong knowledge of network analysis and troubleshooting, particularly with Wireshark and serial console tools
- Experience with technical documentation, requirements specifications, and FAT/SAT and IQ/OQ test protocols
- Knowledge of process control systems, data acquisition, and sensor integration, ideally in the field of bioprocess engineering
- Knowledge of relevant standards and guidelines such as EMC, Low Voltage, and Machinery Directives, as well as GxP, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001 is a plus
- Enthusiasm for innovation and openness to new technologies
- Excellent written and spoken English skills, as well as language skills at a minimum B1 level
