Empa in Dübendorf, a leading Swiss research institution, invites applications for a Technician in Electron Microscopy (80-100%). You will operate the center's electron microscopes and the sample preparation facilities, perform preventive maintenance and basic repairs, and coordinate complex services with manufacturers.

You will train users, participate in scientific projects and provide services to internal and external customers. Fluency in English is mandatory; German is desirable.

Qualifikationen

• Practical experience operating and maintaining electron microscopes.
• Familiar with small electro‑mechanical devices.
• Fluency in English (spoken and written) is mandatory; German desired.

Aufgaben

• Operate the center's electron microscopes and the sample preparation facilities.
• Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnostics, and basic repairs of microscopy equipment.
• Coordinate more complex repairs and servicing with instrument manufacturers and external service providers.
• Introduction and training of users to the tools & methods.
• Participation in scientific projects.
• Provide electron-microscopy services to internal and external customers.
