Empa in Dübendorf, a leading Swiss research institution, invites applications for a Technician in Electron Microscopy (80-100%). You will operate the center's electron microscopes and the sample preparation facilities, perform preventive maintenance and basic repairs, and coordinate complex services with manufacturers.

You will train users, participate in scientific projects and provide services to internal and external customers. Fluency in English is mandatory; German is desirable.

Your tasks
Responsible for the operation of the center's electron microscopes and the sample preparation facilities
Carry out preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnostics, and basic repairs of microscopy equipment

Your profile
You bring along practical experience in the operation and maintenance of electron microscopes, as well as in related sample preparation methods. You are familiar with small electro‑mechanical devices. You have a flair for details and perfectionism. You are eager to expand your horizon and to learn new characterization methods and applications thereof. Fluency in English (spoken and written) is mandatory, in German desired.
