Job summary

Hitachi Energy in Switzerland is seeking an ambitious High Voltage Lab Engineer to join our dynamic team of scientists and technicians. You will run, maintain and improve state-of-the-art HV labs, contribute to the design and execution of tests, and help advance safe testing practices under the guidance of HSE partners and research teams.

This role emphasizes hands-on lab work, data collection and analysis, and close collaboration with Hitachi Energy colleagues in adjacent labs and business

Qualifications

• Bachelor or equivalent in electrical engineering or related field.
• Lab work experience with experimental setups and advanced measurement methods.
• Knowledge of LabVIEW, MATLAB or Python is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Run and maintain high voltage labs and measurement setups.
• Plan, prepare and execute high voltage tests with the team.
• Collaborate with scientists and technicians from research.
• Contribute to safe testing practices with HSE partners.
• Coordinate with Hitachi Energy HV labs and business units.

How you will make an impact

• Run and maintain state-of-the-art high voltage labs

• Participate actively in planning, preparation and execution of high voltage tests

• Collaborate closely with a team of scientists and technicians from research

• Bring your active contribution to the definition of safe testing practices in the lab during all phases of the experiments with the support of local HSE partners and research team

• Interact with partners in the adjacent Hitachi Energy high voltage labs and business units.

What you will bring

• Education in electrical engineering with at least a bachelor degree (FH)

• Proven experience in lab work, including experimental setup with advanced measurement methods

• Knowledge of lab integrated programming using LabView, Matlab or Python is very much welcome

• Skills in data analysis are a plus.

• Past experience in high voltage lab is advantageous.

• Conversational level in English is required, good knowledge of German language is very appreciated.
