Ampegon Power Electronics AG is looking for a dedicated Electrical Design Engineer (m/f/d) to join the design team for the development of electrical system schematics and control cabinets for customised high voltage DC power supplies or high power RF amplifiers used in exciting research programmes in research facilities (fusion research, particle accelerators, etc.) around the world.

Responsibilities

• Development of system diagrams and associated parts lists and wiring tables for customer-specific systems
• Close co-operation with the mechanical design department (3D CAD) and other departments
• Dimensioning and design of electrical components (circuit breakers, transformers, etc.), devices (measuring devices, sensors, etc.) and conductor connections, taking into account relevant standards and safety regulations
• Any dimensioning of air and cooling water distributions, including the creation of associated diagrams where necessary
• Technical support for suppliers and internal production
• If required, participation in acceptance tests at subcontractors (e.g. factory tests of transformers, etc.)
• Assistance in the preparation of customer quotations and cost calculations

You bring with you

• Completed vocational training as an automation technician or electronics technician (or similar professions) with further training as a technician TS/FH specialising in electrical design
• Several years of professional experience in electrical design
• Knowledge in the application of the Machinery Directive, Low Voltage Directive and current standards
• Experience in E-CAD design (preferably Zuken E3 or EPLAN), in managing product data, good SAP and MS Office skills
• Very good German and good English skills
• Ability to work in a team, self-organisation
• Personal responsibility, good planning and communication skills - and enjoyment of work
