This role offers the chance to work on advanced electrical design for transformers and reactors in MV and rolling stock applications, applying cutting-edge engineering standards and simulation tools. You’ll engage with cross-functional teams and customers to develop tailored, high-performance solutions, while supporting manufacturing and overseeing critical testing and commissioning phases. With a strong focus on innovation, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement, this position plays a key role in shaping next-generation transformer technology.

How you'll make an impact

• Electrical design of transformers / reactors with the evaluation, selection, and application of normative standards and procedures, mainly focused on MV and rolling stock applications
• Collaborate with engineering team members and customers to discuss technical solutions tailored to market requirements
• Provide technical support for manufacturing locations, ensuring transformers are produced according to design specifications
• Support and supervise complex projects related to testing, installation, and commissioning activities, ensuring best-in-class design engineering
• Conduct troubleshooting and failure analysis in strategic product development projects
• Collaborate with the sales team and customers regarding transformer design and coordinate with the Design System Manager for improvements or implementation in the design system

Your background

• Master's or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering
• 6-8 years of electrical design experience, preferably in dry type transformers and reactors for MV and rolling stock applications and/or electrical machines
• Good knowledge of dry type transformer manufacturing processes and testing
• Experience in multiphysics simulation including cooling, heat transfer & flow, electromagnetics, electrostatic fields
• Proficiency in current design tools, including development of dedicated design programs/interfaces (e.g., Matlab, Simulink, Visual Basic)
• Good English language skills; Italian is a plus
• Willingness to undertake short trips (up to 20%)
• Knowledge of Finite Element Analysis is a plus
