Zusammenfassung

Lonza Visp is seeking an EI&C MES DeltaV Application Manager to drive MES DeltaV projects across the full lifecycle, shaping digital manufacturing and ensuring GMP-compliant systems.

You will collaborate with Operations, QA, Automation, and IT/OT, maintain MES standards, optimize performance, and coordinate external partners, with on-call availability 2-3 times yearly.

Qualifikationen

• Completed university degree in Computer Science, Industrial IT/OT, Automation Engineering, or related field.
• Significant IT/OT experience in MES DeltaV or automation roles in regulated environments.
• Solid GMP knowledge and experience with validated production or automation systems.
• MES lifecycle ownership including operation, enhancements, release management, and interfaces.
• Strong OT network knowledge, virtualization (VMware), system architectures, and cybersecurity basics.
• Fluent German or English (minimum B2) for collaboration with stakeholders.
• Structured, independent work style with strong communication and problem solving.
• Willingness to participate in on-call duty (Pikettdienst) 2-3 times per year.

Join our Engineering team in Visp as an EI&C MES DeltaV Application Manager 80-100% (m/f/d) and drive the evolution of our MES DeltaV (formerly Syncade) landscape across its full lifecycle. In this role, you’ll shape digital manufacturing by leading MES projects, strengthening system standards, and ensuring GMP‑compliant, high‑impact system performance.

This is a fully site‑based role. Working together in person supports close, real‑time collaboration and the technical precision needed to manufacture medicines to the highest quality and safety standards.

What You’ll Do

• Execute and lead MES DeltaV projects across all lifecycle phases, including requirement analysis, design, implementation, testing, and deployment.
• Maintain, optimize, and further develop MES standards, ensuring consistency, compliance, and alignment with site and global guidelines.
• Ensure reliable operation, enhancement, and updating of MES DeltaV (formerly Syncade) systems, recognizing their direct impact on production processes and GMP‑compliant documentation.
• Collaborate closely with Operations, QA, Automation, and IT/OT teams to ensure seamless system integration and high system availability.
• Analyze and improve MES‑related workflows, identifying opportunities for digitalization, efficiency gains, and data integrity improvements.
• Coordinate and manage external partners and vendors involved in MES or OT‑related project and support activities.
• Ensure GMP‑compliant execution of all MES and OT activities, including documentation, change control, and validation readiness.

What We Are Looking For

• Completed university degree in Computer Science, Industrial IT/OT, Automation Engineering, or a related field (Bachelor level or higher).
• Significant professional experience in IT/OT, MES DeltaV (formerly Syncade), or automation‑related engineering roles within a regulated environment.
• Solid understanding of GMP requirements and experience working with validated production or automation systems.
• Responsibility for the MES lifecycle, including system operation, enhancements, release management, and interface coordination.
• Strong knowledge of OT networks, virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware), system architectures, and basic cybersecurity principles.
• Fluent German or English (minimum B2 level) for effective collaboration with local and global stakeholders.
• Structured, independent working style with strong communication and problem‑solving skills.
• Willingness to participate in on‑call duty (Pikettdienst) 2-3 times per year.
