Vontobel in Zurich invites motivated students to join its 6‑month Early Careers Internship Program, starting 1 March 2027. You will contribute to risk management, governance and analytics within a dynamic team at a globally recognized investment firm.

You will engage across Risk, Compliance, Technology and Finance, applying curiosity, analytical thinking and proactive problem‑solving. This paid internship offers hands‑on experience, networking opportunities and exposure to enterprise risk

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program, or graduated within the last two years, in finance, technology, or related field.
• Fluent in English, written and spoken; German/French/Italian is a plus.
• Valid work permit for the location.

Responsibilities

• Support enhancement of enterprise, operational and resilience risk frameworks, including risk appetite and governance.
• Collaborate across Risk, Compliance, Technology, Finance and control functions to understand interactions of activities, risks and processes.
• Assist in risk analysis and oversight of incidents, regulatory developments, risk culture and resilience scenarios.
• Contribute to risk reporting, dashboards and presentations for senior management and governance bodies.
• Help connect risk appetite, incidents, controls and resilience to improve processes and data use.
• Explore the use of AI to enhance risk identification, analysis and management reporting with proper governance.
• Gain insights into corporate governance and how risk information escalates to decisions by management and boards.

Over 6 months, starting on1March2027, you’ll gain hands‑on experience and insights into the financial industry while building lasting connections in a globally recognized investment firm.

What would your role be?

• Connect the events, themes and risk across the bank by supporting the further enhancement and alignment of enterprise, operational and resilience risk frameworks, including risk appetite, risk taxonomy, risk governance and the interaction between different risk types.
• Work across the bank’s Three Lines of Defense, engaging with business units and colleagues across Risk, Compliance, Technology, Finance and other control functions to understand how business activities, risks, processes and controls interact.
• Contribute to risk analysis and oversight across operational incidents, emerging risks, regulatory developments, risk culture and resilience scenarios, helping identify risk concentrations, control weaknesses and common risk drivers.
• Turn risk information into management insight by supporting risk reporting, dashboards, committee materials and presentations preparations that enable senior management and governance bodies to understand the bank’s risk profile and make informed decisions.
• Help strengthen and simplify risk management processes by improving the connection between risk appetite, incidents, issues, controls, risk assessments and resilience, while identifying opportunities for better data, automation and more efficient workflows.
• Explore how AI can enhance risk management, including the responsible use of AI to support risk identification, analysis, control assessment and management reporting, while considering appropriate governance and human oversight.
• Gain insights into the bank’s corporate governance and understand how risk information is escalated, challenged and translated into decisions by management, risk committees and the Board.
• Bring a fresh perspective to Enterprise Risk Control, applying curiosity, analytical thinking and constructive challenge to help the bank continuously strengthen how it identifies, assesses, manages and monitors risk.

What you need to apply
