Zusammenfassung

The Language Center of the University of Bern invites applications for a part-time position to design and teach EAP and ESP courses tailored to the natural sciences. You will prepare teaching materials, utilise online platforms, and provide individual consultations to doctoral students in a collaborative environment.

Qualifikationen

• Native or native-like speaker with a PhD in Applied Linguistics, TESOL, or related fields (candidates with an MA will be considered).
• Teacher training qualification (DELTA, teacher training diploma, or similar).
• A minimum of 3 years of university-level EAP/ESP teaching focusing on natural sciences and academic writing.
• Solid IT skills and active engagement with AI in the classroom.
• Team-oriented with good working German (B2).
• Swiss or EU citizenship.

Aufgaben

• Design and teach EAP and ESP courses at CEFR B2-C2 for natural sciences and academic writing.
• Prepare and share teaching materials and use online platforms for teaching.
• Provide individual consultations to doctoral students.
• Network and market the academic English offering.
• Participate in team meetings and teacher training.
