Recrutis is supporting a leading biopharmaceutical manufacturing site in Visp, Switzerland, in appointing a Head of Downstream Processing (DSP) Manufacturing Operations. The role leads an interdisciplinary team and is accountable for performance, safety, quality and regulatory readiness on a 100% on-site basis.

Key requirements include 10+ years in GMP biotech manufacturing, hands-on DSP experience, MSc or equivalent, and professional-level English and German.

Qualifikationen

• 10+ years of experience in biotechnological manufacturing in a GMP production environment.
• Hands-on downstream processing (DSP) manufacturing background.
• Proven people leadership of a manufacturing team, incl. performance management & development.
• MSc or equivalent in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, Bioengineering or related field.
• English and German at professional working level, daily use.

Aufgaben

• Lead, develop and coach a multidisciplinary manufacturing team.
• Ensure safe, compliant and efficient DSP operations meeting safety, quality, GMP and customer requirements.
• Drive operational excellence: performance metrics, issue resolution, CI initiatives, standardisation and innovation.
• Oversee resource and capacity planning, training, and new technologies for readiness.
• Collaborate with MSAT, Production Support, QA and USP Operations; manage escalation.
• Represent manufacturing in customer meetings, audits and inspections; maintain readiness.
• Approve change controls, risk assessments, and GMP documentation within the unit.
• Support capital investment and facility expansion projects as manufacturing SME.
• Act as deputy to the Head of Operations.
