Downstream Process Scientist – Biotech Drug Substance

Job summary

For our Client based in Basel, we are looking for a Scientist experienced in Downstream Process Development. In this role, you will plan and perform scientific experiments to support the preparation and timely delivery of drug substance (DS) manufacturing processes.

Working within a multifunctional project team led by a Project Leader, you will contribute to downstream process development activities, conduct purification experiments, and support scientific and technical project work.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a laboratory-based role.
• Experience with purification technologies such as chromatography and/or filtration.
• Experience handling chemicals and laboratory equipment safely.
• Strong technical knowledge in biotechnology or related field.
• Experience in experimental design, data analysis and troubleshooting.
• Fluent English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Plan and perform scientific experiments for DS manufacturing processes.
• Collaborate within a multifunctional project team led by a Project Leader.
• Conduct downstream purification experiments including chromatography and filtration.
• Report laboratory results and maintain documentation according to standards.
• Maintain laboratory instruments and ensure timely execution of activities.
• Optimize existing methods and support development of more efficient processes.
• Communicate technical issues and manage chemicals within your area.

Education

Bachelor's degree or equivalent scientific qualification
