Zusammenfassung

CERN IT Storage and Data Management group seeks a Distributed Storage Engineer to design, evolve, and operate large-scale storage services for the CERN cloud and computing infrastructures. You will work with Ceph-based block, object, and filesystem solutions, ensuring high availability across multi-datacenter environments.

You will diagnose issues in complex distributed Linux environments, contribute code to Ceph, and help automate deployment and observability.

Qualifikationen

• Master's degree or equivalent relevant experience in Computer Science or a related field.
• Strong interest in service management, including operations, troubleshooting, user support, configuration and automation.
• Deep understanding of Linux operating system performance, tuning and administration.
• Demonstrated experience in C++ software development of distributed storage systems (preferably Ceph).
• Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with multiple cross-functional teams, users and partners.

Aufgaben

• Manage and operate distributed disk storage, including block, object and filesystem services (Ceph).
• Contribute to evolution of architecture and design of storage services for CERN and open-source storage tech.
• Integrate, troubleshoot and maintain distributed storage systems at scale across multiple data centres.
• Contribute to documentation, development, automation, and optimization of storage services.
• Contribute to change management, incident response, and user support.
