Qualifikationen

  • Proficiency in English (written and verbal) is required.
  • Significant pharmaceutical industry experience with exposure to R&D, development and/or commercialization processes.

Role

All PDA roles share a common foundation of analytical rigor, strategic thinking, stakeholder management, and clear communication. The differences between Portfolio Analytics and Decision Analytics lie in the primary context and stakeholder model, while the differences between Associate Director and Director lie in scope, autonomy, influence, and impact. Common characteristics are:

  • Demonstrates strong analytical rigor, strategic thinking, stakeholder management, and clear communication.
  • Uses common PDA tools, methods, assumptions, templates, and capability standards.
  • Supports TA-aligned PDA collaboration across Portfolio Analytics and Decision Analytics.
  • Converts complex analytics into concise insight and practical recommendations for decision-makers.
Role-specific Responsibilities
  • Lead major portfolio analytics workstreams, including portfolio reviews, long-range portfolio assessments, prioritization exercises, TA/franchise analyses, and enterprise-level portfolio decision support.
  • Shape analytical methodologies for portfolio prioritization, valuation, risk, scenario planning, pipeline sizing, value optimization, and related portfolio decision questions.
  • Provide senior stakeholders with clear interpretation of portfolio dynamics, risks, opportunities, trade-offs, and implications for investment, prioritization, and strategic planning.
  • Serve as a senior PDA thought partner for enterprise, franchise, TA, and EPI stakeholders.
  • Lead development of senior-ready materials that synthesize complex portfolio analyses into clear recommendations and decision narratives.
  • Mentor Associate Directors and other PDA colleagues in analytical framing, communication, stakeholder management, and portfolio methodology.
  • Drive continuous improvement of PDA tools, systems, reporting, and analytical standards.
LEVEL-SPECIFIC EXPECTATIONS
  • Owns complex, high-impact analytical workstreams from problem framing through stakeholder communication.
  • Operates with significant independence and judgment in ambiguous or high-stakes situations.
  • Shapes the analytical agenda, not only responds to requested analyses.
  • Influences senior stakeholders by connecting data, assumptions, trade-offs, and strategic choices.
  • Coaches others and advances PDA capabilities through development of reusable methodologies, tools, frameworks, and best practices that improve the function beyond a single deliverable.
Capabilities And Experience
  • Degree in business (MBA preferred) or an advanced scientific degree
  • Proficiency in English (written and verbal) is required
  • Significant pharmaceutical industry experience with exposure to research, development and/or commercialization processes
  • Deep experience with R&D portfolio analytics, valuation, forecasting, prioritization, scenario planning, or related strategic analytics.
  • Strong understanding of pharmaceutical R&D, portfolio strategy, asset value drivers, risk, development trade-offs, and enterprise decision processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex analyses and convert them into senior-level recommendations.
  • Ability to influence in a matrixed environment without formal authority.
  • Track record of improving analytical methods, tools, processes, or team capabilities.
