This role is pivotal in shaping and leading the group accounting and financial reporting functions as they continue to expand their global footprint. The future Director will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of group accounting, ensuring compliance with international financial standards, and driving strategic financial initiatives to support their rapid growth. Key Responsibilities:

  3. Oversee corporate month-end processes, prepare consolidated financial statements as per IFRS, and handle annual reporting for the Swiss Stock Exchange (SIX).
  4. Act as the main liaison for external auditors, manage audit processes, and resolve audit issues, ensuring effective communication and project management across teams.
  5. Provide expert support on key accounting judgments and complex transactions, and address queries related to IFRS accounting treatments like revenue recognition and impairment assessments.
  6. Ensure compliance with tax regulations, manage tax return preparation, and implement strategies to optimize the group's tax position.
  7. Lead a global team, oversee transactional finance teams across different sites, and drive the evolution towards an optimized finance setup.
  8. Handle special projects on external accounting and provide guidance on national and international accounting issues.
  9. Support the CFO and senior management team with financial analysis and insights.

Qualifications:

  1. University degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field – additional CPA or equivalent professional certification is of advantage.
  2. Minimum of 10 years’ experience in group accounting and reporting with at least 5 years in a leadership role. Auditor’s experience with one of the big-4 as well as experience with a SIX listed company is of advantage.
  3. Profound knowledge and experience in accounting and reporting, with focus on IFRS as well as a track record in managing audits and knowledge of international tax regulations.
  4. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to handle complex financial data.
  5. “Hands-on” mentality, willing to take ownership, able to work under pressure and to deal with conflicting priorities.
  6. Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems.
  7. Excellent leadership skills - strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence others, collaborate cross-functionally and across different geographies for optimal outcomes for the group.
  8. Fluency in English; additional languages, especially German, are a plus.
  9. Openness for occasional business travel.

What the client offers:
