Job summary

Merck Gruppe - MSD Sharp & Dohme is seeking a Director, Digital Plant Lead to define a unified digital strategy across Research facilities. You will lead digital plant design and oversee MES and ERP implementations, ensuring data and materials flow seamlessly across sites.

You will translate complex, cross-site requirements into executable plans, drive system alignment, and partner with IT and business leaders to deliver value through digital manufacturing and inventory solutions.

Qualifications

8+ years in a digital manufacturing support, plant automation or related technical field.
Pharmaceutical manufacturing or supply chain experience preferred.
Business requirements translation: translate complex needs into actionable specs for system design.
System implantation: experience with MES/ERP implementations.
Collaboration & influence: build trust-based relationships to drive change with diverse stakeholders.
Communication: excellent written and verbal skills for senior leadership.
Independence: proactive leadership of projects.

Responsibilities

Translate business process needs into system requirements for digital manufacturing and supply chain capabilities (MES/ERP).
Digital plant design: advise on virtual plant design across enterprise systems.
System integration: align enterprise system implementation across sites and divisions.
Business process transformation: harmonize processes across Research Laboratories network.
Performance monitoring: define and track KPIs for system adoption and value.
Systems architecture: collaborate with architects to ensure scalable, secure enterprise systems.
Documentation & enablement: document requirements and support training for new systems.
