Director of Brand Management, Performance

The Director of Brand at On defines the long-range vision for marketing for one of the two pillars of our business - PAD (lifestyle) or Performance. They partner with others in the organization, including product vertical leads and commercial leads, to develop and execute this vision, aiming to enhance credibility, connection, and action with our communities.

Specifically, for the Performance [sports] verticals—Running, Outdoor, and Tennis—the role involves shaping how we approach these sports to increase awareness, cultural relevance, credibility, and sales. The director will map out a long-term growth strategy in collaboration with product, merchandising, and sales teams, linking efforts across verticals for maximum impact.

Your Mission
  • Set the Vision: Define where we want to go and how to get there through detailed 3-year plans aligning product, marketing, and commercial interests, with support from various teams and senior leadership.
  • Drive Marketing Excellence: Act as the voice of the brand, providing insights on idea viability, collaborating with creative and strategic partners, and securing buy-in from commercial and product teams.
  • Report to Evolve: Use measurement and insights to identify growth opportunities, refine go-to-market strategies, improve creative performance, and generate value across teams.
Your story

We seek a collaborative individual skilled in research, planning, storytelling, and building trust with decision-makers. You should be passionate about sport, knowledgeable about product technologies, and adept at storytelling that elevates our brand in the performance sports verticals.

Qualifications include:

  • 12+ years in brand marketing, with experience on both brand and agency sides, in sportswear or related industries.
  • At least 5 years in managerial roles, leading teams and setting long-term vision within a sportswear context.
  • Experience working directly with product teams to develop long-term plans.
  • Degree in Business, Marketing, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven success in global marketing campaigns across channels.
  • Deep understanding of the premium lifestyle and sportswear market.
  • Curiosity, innovation, strategic thinking, and a growth mindset.
  • Strong presentation skills and confidence in engaging with senior audiences.
About the Team

You will lead the brand strategy team at On, working cross-functionally with marketing, product, and commercial teams. You will oversee a team of two heads of brands focusing on running and outdoor categories. A passion for sports and product storytelling is essential, along with an entrepreneurial spirit and curiosity that aligns with our Explorer Spirit.
