Job summary

IATA is seeking a Director of Industry Analysis to lead the economics research for the global airline industry, reporting to the SVP of Sustainability and Chief Economist. You will guide modelling, macro/micro analyses, and publish research for internal and external audiences.

You will oversee a team of economists, coordinate with regional offices, and ensure timely, policy-relevant insights. The role emphasizes strategic thinking, data-driven conclusions, and global perspective.

Qualifications

• Postgraduate studies in micro- and macro-economics, business, finance, statistics; PhD an advantage.
• 10 years’ experience in economist roles applying economic analyses to business and industry issues; thought leadership to industry and regulators.
• Strong stakeholder management and English communications skills; ability to prioritize in fast-evolving domain.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the strategic work plan for the Industry Analysis team aligned with SVP and goals.
• Lead research on airlines’ businesses, financials, and decarbonization; oversee modelling; deliver economic topics relevant to the industry.
• Coordinate with regional offices; deliver industry analyses to policymakers and stakeholders; ensure data quality and accessibility.
