We are looking for an enthusiastic Director, Business Development, to join our dynamic Business Development team. You will be responsible for delivering strategic transactions (out-licensing, alliances, in-licensing, partnerships) to support a critical component of the Idorsia Pharmaceuticals for growth strategy.

This will include the following activities:

  • Serve as the primary contact for external partners on all project-specific business and negotiation matters
  • Evaluate potential licensing partnerships strategically, especially out-licensing opportunities,
  • Manage the full BD and Licensing lifecycle, including preparation of executive materials and oversight of deliverables, data room and other BD activities
  • Support analytical assessments including sales forecasts, cost projections, and valuation models,
  • Lead internal cross-functional deal teams and coordinate due diligence efforts,
  • Prepare and present collaboration opportunities to internal stakeholders and leadership,
  • Structure deals, including term sheets, issue lists, and contracts,
  • Participate in strategic reviews of therapeutic areas, competitors, and market trends
  • Represent the company at industry conferences and build a strong external network
  • Provide flexible support across strategy, analytics, and search activities during peak periods
  • Follow up on transactions and establish and support alliance management

Required Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or a life sciences discipline required; MBA or other advanced degree (e.g. PhD) preferred
  • At least 10+ years of relevant experience in the biotech/pharma industry (e.g., alliance management, corporate/business development, strategy, etc.)
  • Proven success and deal sheet in out-/in-licensing, M&A, and strategic deal-making
  • At least 5 years experience in a business development related role
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and presenting to leadership
  • Deep knowledge of drug development and biopharma partnerships
  • Excellent communicator with global, cross-cultural collaboration experience
