Job Description

Primary Function of Position:

The IT Regional Support Technician supports hardware and software for all location-specific and corporate employees or contractors, following best practices defined by IT Operations, Infrastructure, Security, and Network departments. This includes support for computers, printers, cell phones, telecom (VOIP), audiovisual equipment, servers, network devices, operating systems, network access, websites, email, third-party software supporting business functions, and internal applications.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  1. Respond to IT assistance requests from corporate and field users or as escalated from Tier I or II support.
  2. Participate in a 24x7x365 on-call rotation.
  3. Document and maintain processes, best practices, knowledge base, and training materials.
  4. Support building needs, including computers, printers, copiers, meetings, AV equipment.
  5. Act as "local hands" for Infrastructure, Security, and Facilities teams as needed.
  6. Manage or participate in various projects.
  7. Ensure departmental goals are met timely and completely.
  8. Provide management with timely reports on issues, status, and resolutions.
  9. Support meetings and maintain video conferencing infrastructure in collaboration with employee departments.
  10. Coordinate with Business Application, Network, Security, Infrastructure, Windows, and Facilities teams for issue resolution and projects.
  11. Support core services like DHCP, DNS, WINS in an Active Directory environment.
  12. Install software, troubleshoot, and respond to SCCM alerts.
  13. Provide miscellaneous building and meeting support.
  14. Manage local IT vendor relationships for A/V, Networking, Security, and Printer support.
  15. Maintain equipment inventory through planning, ordering, restocking, and record-keeping.
  16. Conduct regular inventory counts for accuracy and compliance.

Qualifications

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

  • Associate’s degree, relevant certifications, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 3 years supporting Windows environments.
  • Experience troubleshooting complex issues.
  • Strong customer service, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Experience with helpdesk software and ticket management.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft desktop OS and networking.
  • Experience in manufacturing environments is a plus.
  • Availability for weekend and non-business hours support as needed.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CCENT, MCITP, Security+, A+, ITIL) are desirable.
  • Flexibility to handle projects outside normal duties.
  • Ability to lift and move equipment (~25 lbs).
