Field of activity
- Inform, advise, raise awareness, and train university bodies, faculties, and staff on data protection issues and legal obligations
- Provide advice on data impact assessments and monitor their implementation
- Coordinate declarations of personal data processing activities
- Serve as a contact point for all questions related to personal data processing (internally and externally) and act as a privileged interlocutor with the Cantonal Authority for Transparency, Data Protection, and Mediation
- Assist university bodies and staff in measures following data security breaches
- Support in adopting internal directives on data protection
Requirements
- Master's degree in law or a technical field complemented by training in data protection
- Native French or German speaker, with very good knowledge of the other language and English
- Several years of professional experience, preferably in data protection or higher education institutions
- Knowledge of the regulatory framework in data protection and motivation to stay updated on legal and technical developments and to continuously train
- Ability to cooperate, flexibility, and solution-oriented mindset
- Ability to work independently and in teams, interacting with various actors (IT department, rectorate, researchers, cantonal data protection officer, etc.)
- Excellent communication skills and ability to coordinate with cross-stakeholders
- Proactivity, curiosity, and analytical mindset
- Ability to reconcile the needs of the scientific community with regulatory requirements
