Cloud Data Platform Architect

Our partner, one of the leading consultancy companies in Switzerland, is looking for a Cloud Data Platform Architect to contribute to the design, implementation, and optimisation of state-of-the-art cloud data platforms for a diverse range of industries and clients.

What You'll Be Doing

* Take the lead on multiple cloud data platform initiatives, serving as a key technical advisor to clients.
* Play a hands-on role in winning new projects by crafting proposals and engaging in client discussions.
* Design, develop, and configure components for data pipelines, including ingestion, real-time streaming, batch processes, and data transformations across diverse systems.
* Work closely with engineering teams to ensure that all solutions meet expectations for performance, scalability, security, and reliability.
* Review and improve data platform architectures to boost efficiency and effectiveness.
* Share your knowledge by mentoring team members and introducing them to cutting-edge technologies.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams - Data Engineers, Analysts, and Scientists - to build robust data ecosystems with an emphasis on cloud-native infrastructure and open-source technologies.

Your Background

* Degree from a recognised Swiss university or university of applied sciences (ETH/UNI/FH).
* 8+ years of experience in delivering and automating cloud platforms using Azure, AWS, Databricks, Kubernetes, Terraform, or similar tools.
* 5+ years of direct implementation experience in data and analytics technologies like SQL, Spark, Kafka, Hadoop, or Delta Lake; solid coding ability in Python or Java/Scala.
* Strong understanding of ETL frameworks (e.g. Talend, SSIS), data modelling, governance, and modern architectural principles including Data Mesh and Warehousing.
* Certifications in Azure Analytics or Databricks are highly desirable.
* Solid grasp of software development best practices: from source control and code reviews to testing and deployment.
* Previous consultancy experience is a strong plus.
* Fluency in both German and English is essential.
