The International Olympic Committee (IOC) is the guardian of the Olympic Games and the leader of the Olympic Movement. A truly global organisation, it acts as a catalyst for collaboration between all Olympic stakeholders, including athletes, National Olympic Committees (NOCs), International Sports Federations (IFs), Organising Committees for the Olympic Games (OCOGs), Worldwide Olympic Partners and Media Rights-Holders. It also works with public and private authorities, including the United Nations and other international organisations.

The Olympic Museum is dedicated to preserving and sharing the rich heritage of the Olympic Movement while inspiring new generations through the universal language of sport. As Assistant Curator, you will play a key role in shaping engaging, meaningful exhibitions that bring Olympic stories to life. These are stories of excellence, respect, and friendship that transcend time, cultures, and borders. You will support the development of content that informs, moves, and connects visitors across the world, contributing to exhibitions presented both at the Museum and internationally. In this role, you are not simply curating content. You are sparking curiosity, igniting imaginations, and creating connections.

Main responsibilities of this role include:

As Assistant Curator at the Olympic Museum, you will support the development and delivery of compelling experiences that bring the Olympic narrative to life. Working within a dynamic, cross-functional team, you will contribute your research, storytelling, and project coordination skills to create visitor experiences that are meaningful, relevant, and globally resonant.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Research and Storytelling: Conduct in-depth research on Olympic themes, history, and artefacts to develop content that is both historically accurate and emotionally compelling. Source visual and material culture to support curatorial vision.

  • Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with teams in design, digital media, education, conservation, and legal to support the smooth and integrated development of exhibitions and related programming.

  • Audience Engagement and Public Impact: Support the alignment of curatorial content with institutional communication strategies. Contribute to experiences that are accessible, inclusive, and designed to inspire curiosity, reflection, and connection.

  • Project Coordination: Assist in managing timelines, documentation, and workflows related to exhibition development. Ensure clear communication across internal teams and external partners.

  • Creative Innovation: Stay informed on trends in museum practice, design, and digital storytelling. Bring fresh ideas and a visitor-first mindset to every phase of the exhibition process.

Eligibility criteria:

  • Higher education (University or Higher Education Institutions) degree or professional experience deemed equivalent.

  • Project management experience.

  • Full professional fluency in French and English, both spoken and written, essential for effective collaboration and content development in an international environment

  • Demonstrated experience in developing engaging, visitor-centred content within cultural or exhibition contexts.

  • Skilled at shaping meaningful narratives that combine historical insight with artistic and cultural interpretation.

  • Solid understanding of communication, marketing, and public relations principles, with the ability to align curatorial content with institutional messaging.

  • Capable of crafting experiences that resonate with diverse audiences and contribute to the Museum’s public image and outreach efforts.

  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, with experience working across departments including design, digital, legal, and operations.

  • Adept at managing multiple stakeholders and contributing to a shared creative vision.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools including Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Familiar with project management platforms and open to exploring digital solutions that enhance visitor engagement and storytelling.
