Job summary

Optimus Life Sciences is seeking a CSA Construction Manager/Bauleiter to lead civil, architectural and structural construction across Swiss project sites. The role focuses on building permits, early-stage activities and multidisciplinary site coordination in a pharmaceutical CAPEX environment.

The candidate will manage schedules, cost control and regulatory compliance, coordinating contractors and interfaces between civil, mechanical, utilities and process engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Qualification in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or a related technical discipline.
• Several years of experience as a Bauleiter, Construction Manager or Site Manager on complex industrial projects.
• Strong understanding of CSA construction activities, including civil works, architectural interfaces and building services.
• Practical experience with Swiss building permit procedures and construction approvals.
• Proven ability to coordinate contractors and multiple technical disciplines on site.
• Experience in pharmaceutical, chemical, process engineering or other complex industrial environments is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with construction planning, cost control and reporting tools; Messerli experience is advantageous.
• Fluent German and strong English communication skills. French would be a significant advantage.
• Willingness to travel between project locations within Switzerland.

Responsibilities

• Manage site mobilisation, civil works, building structures and architectural installations.
• Coordinate subcontractors and interfaces between civil, mechanical, utilities and process engineering disciplines.
• Take responsibility for construction schedules, cost control, progress monitoring and reporting.
• Ensure construction activities comply with project specifications, contractual obligations and site safety standards.
• Support projects through construction, commissioning, final handover and close-out.
• Work closely with engineering teams, contractors and clients to resolve technical and site-related challenges.

The Opportunity

We are supporting an established engineering company delivering complex pharmaceutical and industrial CAPEX projects across Switzerland.

As part of continued growth and a developing project pipeline, they are looking to appoint an experienced CSA Construction Manager / Bauleiter to strengthen their construction management team.

This position is particularly suited to someone with a background in civil engineering, architecture or industrial construction who can take ownership of building permits, early-stage construction activities and multidisciplinary site coordination.
