Job summary

Monte Rosa Therapeutics, Inc seeks a hands-on Contractor – Discovery Cellular Assays to advance hit-to-lead efforts. You will design and execute cell-based assays, engineer and characterize engineered cell lines, and implement diverse detection platforms under GLP-like practices.

You will collaborate across functions and external partners, contributing to assay optimization and scalable workflows for compound profiling in a fast-paced biotech setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Cell Biology, or related Life Sciences.
• 2–3+ years in cellular and molecular biology.
• Hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture and cell-line generation/engineering.
• Experience with CRISPR/Cas9 and engineered cell lines is desirable.
• Experience with drug discovery or compound profiling environments.
• Experience with protein extraction and Western blotting.
• Familiarity with fluorescence, luminescence-based assays, or related platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, optimize, and execute cell-based assays for profiling and mechanism studies.
• Perform mammalian cell culture, gene editing, and cell-line engineering.
• Generate, isolate, and characterize engineered cell lines; DNA/RNA analysis.
• Implement assays using fluorescence, luminescence, TR-FRET, AlphaScreen, etc.
• Develop robust protocols with controls and performance parameters; troubleshoot.
• Support transition to scalable workflows for screening; use automation where possible.
• Collaborate with internal teams and CROs; maintain records per GLP-like practices.
• Contribute to ongoing improvement of lab processes and assay platforms.
