Job summary

UEFA is seeking a Commercial Sustainability Intern to support the rollout of the sustainability strategy and manage partner accounts as part of the sustainability team in Nyon. You will assist in developing business cases, briefing materials and workshops, while coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to drive social and environmental initiatives across UEFA events and competitions.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in business management, economics, sustainability, environmental sciences, sports management or a related field.
• Proficient in English; knowledge of additional European languages is a plus.
• Willingness to relocate to Switzerland/France for the role.
• Strong interest in sustainability as a driver of organisational value, innovation and stakeholder engagement.
• Experience conducting research and analysis and preparing presentations or business reports is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Support the roll-out and review of the commercial sustainability strategy.
• Develop business cases, presentations and briefing materials to demonstrate benefits and impact.
• Identify opportunities to strengthen sustainability integration across UEFA competitions, events and stakeholder activities.
• Assist in account management tasks related to existing impact partnerships; participate in meetings and steering committees.
• Support engagement activities with UEFA stakeholders, national associations, leagues, clubs and partners; organize workshops, webinars, events and working groups.
• Provide project management support; monitor trends, prepare market insights and executive briefings.
• Assist with budgeting, procurement, logistics, and documentation; maintain project records and knowledge management.
• Contribute to reports, dashboards, presentations and performance updates.

Main goal

UEFA’s mission is to inspire, activate and accelerate collective action to generate social impact and respect for the environment across European football.
The role will support the Senior Commercial Sustainability Expert in implementing the UEFA Football Sustainability Strategy 2030 in collaboration with commercial partners.

The Commercial Sustainability Intern will work in close collaboration with UEFA's sustainability team and other internal and external stakeholders to support the roll-out and review of the commercial sustainability strategy, the management of UEFA sustainability partners' accounts, community and partner engagement projects, marketing intelligence and reporting, and asset development.

Key responsibilities

Commercial sustainability strategy and value creation

• Supporting the roll-out and review of the commercial sustainability strategy
• Contributing to the development of business cases, presentations and briefing materials that demonstrate the benefits and impact of commercial sustainability initiatives
• Helping to identify opportunities to strengthen sustainability integration across UEFA competitions, events and stakeholder activities

Account management and commercial partner sustainability community

• Supporting with account management tasks relating to existing impact partnerships
• Assisting in weekly meetings and steering committee meetings
• Supporting engagement activities with UEFA stakeholders, national associations, leagues, clubs, commercial partners and sustainability experts
• Helping to prepare community initiatives, e.g. workshops, webinars, events and working groups
• Providing project management support

Market intelligence and reporting

• Monitoring sustainability trends, regulatory developments, stakeholder expectations and emerging best practices relevant to sport and entertainment
• Conducting benchmarking and competitor analysis to identify opportunities and innovations that can support UEFA's sustainability ambitions
• Preparing concise research papers, market insights and executive briefings for internal stakeholders
• Contributing to the preparation of reports, dashboards, presentations and performance updates

Operational support

• Providing administrative and organisational support for sustainability initiatives, meetings, events and stakeholder engagements
• Supporting with budgeting, procurement, logistics, agenda planning and documentation processes
• Maintaining project records and supporting effective knowledge management within the team
• Performing project management tasks relating to business and asset development

Requirements

Experience:

• Previous experience in sponsorship and account management would be a plus

Education:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in business management, economics, sustainability, environmental sciences, sports management or a related field

Languages:

• English / Proficient
• Knowledge of one or more European languages would be an asset

Other requirements:

• Relocation to Switzerland/France is expected
• Strong interest in sustainability as a driver of organisational value, innovation and stakeholder engagement
• Knowledge of sustainability frameworks, standards, and emerging ESG developments
• Affinity with football and the wider sports industry
• Experience conducting research and analysis and preparing presentations or business reports is an asset
