Job summary

LimmaTech Biologics AG, based in Schlieren near Zürich, is advancing its vaccine platform and seeking a CMC-Development Associate, DSP (100%). This role contributes to robust, scalable purification processes for GMP manufacturing, under guidance of experienced team members.

The candidate will prepare, perform, and document DSP operations, develop purification strategies using FPLC, TFF, and filtration technologies, and support tech transfer to CMOs across development stages.

Qualifications

• Technician qualification or higher in biotechnology, bioprocess engineering or related field.
• Hands-on protein purification experience including chromatography and filtration technologies.
• Strong technical aptitude for operating sophisticated lab equipment.
• Knowledge of SDS-PAGE, Western blotting, HPLC and UV-based measurements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, perform, and document DSP operations and experiments per plans and timelines.
• Develop robust purification processes suitable for GMP manufacturing under guidance.
• Establish experimental strategies for chromatography and filtration optimization.
• Establish and perform IPCs to characterize process intermediates and purified material.
• Evaluate data and communicate results in meetings, presentations, and reports.
• Support tech transfer activities to CMOs across development stages.
• Maintain labs and equipment in a clean, safe, and compliant state.

CMC-Development Associate, DSP (100%)

Your responsibilities

• Prepare, perform, and document DSP operations and experiments in accordance with established plans, timelines, and project priorities.
• Develop robust and scalable purification processes suitable for subsequent GMP manufacturing under the guidance of experienced team members, using state-of-the-art equipment such as FPLC systems, microfiltration, depth filtration, and tangential flow filtration (TFF) systems.
• Establish and execute experimental strategies to investigate chromatography methods and resins, filtration technologies, and critical process parameters, with the aim of identifying optimal purification conditions for novel products.
• Establish & perform in-process controls (IPCs) to characterize process intermediates and purified material to support process development and monitor purification performance.
• Evaluate and interpret experimental data and communicate results and conclusions in scientific meetings, presentations, and technical reports.
• Support technology transfer activities to contract manufacturing organizations (CMOs) throughout different stages of development.
• Help ensure that laboratories and equipment are maintained in a clean, safe, and fully operational condition in accordance with applicable safety and operational standards.

What we are looking for

You are a curious, enthusiastic, and proactive team player who enjoys hands-on laboratory work, takes ownership of your activities, and is motivated to continuously learn and develop in a laboratory-focused technical role. Ideally, you bring:

• A Technician qualification, BSc, or MSc in biotechnology, bioprocess engineering, food technology, or a related discipline.
• Hands-on experience in protein purification, including chromatography/FPLC and filtration technologies such as TFF.
• A strong technical aptitude and enthusiasm for working with sophisticated laboratory and process equipment.
• Practical knowledge of biochemical and analytical methods, such as SDS-PAGE, Western blotting, HPLC, and UV-based measurements.
• Knowledge of or experience with Design of Experiments (DoE) approaches is an advantage.
• A structured, reliable, and solution-oriented working style, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English; additional languages are an advantage.
