Job summary

Ampstek is seeking an experienced Cluster Release Manager to coordinate end-to-end software releases across a programme with up to five parallel projects in a complex banking environment. You will ensure release planning, dependency/risk management, deployment coordination, and governance are executed consistently.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in IT project or programme delivery, preferably within complex banking or financial-services organisations.
• Experience as Release Manager or comparable Release Management role within transformation programmes.
• Strong banking-domain experience with wealth management knowledge.
• Experience managing releases across multiple concurrent projects and delivery streams.
• Hands-on experience with SIT/UAT releases in regulated environments.
• Familiarity with large, complex application landscapes (500–1,000 apps).
• Ability to tailor Release Management governance to a large transformation programme.

Responsibilities

• Own the Release Management discipline for up to five projects in parallel with Release Coordinators and project teams.
• Develop and maintain integrated release plans aligned with milestones, dependencies, risk profiles and environment readiness.
• Coordinate end-to-end release activities across multiple projects, teams and suppliers; align with Change and Release Management principles.
• Lead regular release coordination meetings to monitor readiness, unblock blockers and track risks.
• Ensure end-to-end traceability across requirements, design, development, testing, defects and deployment using JIRA/Confluence.
• Identify, monitor and coordinate cross-project dependencies and release risks.
• Oversee staging and promotion of code and configuration changes across environments with Environment Management.
• Monitor release health and quality via KPIs: deployment success, regression pass rate, defect leakage, rollback frequency.
• Provide timely reporting on release status, milestones, risks, dependencies, and issues to leadership.
• Support release-readiness ahead of key test cycles and deployments.
• Facilitate lessons-learned and drive continuous improvement of Release Management processes.
• Support data refreshes and dress rehearsals, including activities outside normal hours when required.
