Alpian Bank is building a cloud-native banking platform in Geneva/Lausanne, offering a hybrid work setup. You will help operate and scale the internal developer platform, automate delivery pipelines, and enforce a security-first mindset tuned to FINMA requirements.

Ideal candidates bring strong cloud, Kubernetes, and IaC skills, plus fluency in French and English, and a passion for applying AI tools to engineering workflows.

Qualifikationen

• Experience with at least one hyperscaler (GCP/AWS/Azure).
• Kubernetes experience within production workloads.
• Proficiency in Terraform for IaC.
• Proficiency in Bash/Python/Go scripting.
• Strong system design capabilities.
• Interest in applying AI tools in daily engineering work.
• Fluent in French and English.

We're looking for someone curious who wants to keep pushing our platform forward. That means a more stable platform and better tools for our developers, which in turn makes for a better experience for our customers.

Purpose

We're looking for a Cloud / Platform Engineer to help us build and scale the banking platform that powers all Alpian workloads, used by thousands of customers. We run a modern cloud infrastructure, managed as code. The team has a high level of agency over design decisions and technical implementation. It supports developers and the business by providing the infrastructure they need to deliver quality software to our customers, at scale and in a secure manner. Automation, reliability, and security are core principles for the team.

What you'll be doing

• Operate and improve our Internal Developer Platform
• Build automation and processes that help developers deliver safe and reliable software fast
• Apply a security-first approach to everything we build (in line with FINMA regulatory requirements)
• Contribute to architecture decisions and own strategic pieces of work
• Improve SRE practices around observability, alerting, and the release process
• Take part in the on-call rotation (compensated)
• Leverage AI tools like Claude Code and Gemini to automate and accelerate our engineering work
• Keep the platform lean and maintain a high level of automation

What you'll need

• Strong experience with at least one of the hyperscalers: Google Cloud, AWS, or Azure
• Strong experience running workloads on Kubernetes
• Terraform proficiency
• Clean code in Bash, Python, or Go
• Good system design skills
• Enthusiasm for AI and a habit of using AI tools in your daily engineering work
• Fluent in French and English

Nice to have

• Experience supporting developer teams and driving cross-team initiatives
• Comfortable sharing ideas, giving feedback, and explaining your decisions
• Enjoy mentoring dev teams on platform engineering and SRE, and bringing new ideas to the table
• Experience with Kafka
• Experience with Grafana and PromQL
• Networking knowledge
• REST API design principles
• Experience with GitOps and automated deployment and promotion flows across environments
